Quinta del Golfo de Cortez (QGC) group was founded by Mexican investors in 1994, and began its path in the hotel management industry with the construction of Hacienda del Mar. This renowned complex was designed by prestigious architects from the Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo firm and is partially operated by the internationally recognized Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc.
This ambitious project was carried out by Sordo Madaleno Architects, a renowned family business that has numerous awards and iconic designs under their belt, which was founded in 1937 by Juan Sordo Madaleno and that continues to grow and succeed into its third generation. Architects Javier Sordo Madaleno Bringas and son, Javier Sordo Madaleno de Haro, continue realizing their firm's original vision through innate talent, dedication and the support of their team of professionals.
The architectonic theme is Mexican contemporary. Quarry stone, granite, marble, wood, and the splendid colors emanating from a dry climate´s vegetation harmonize to establish an intimate bond between architecture and its location.
Gabayet 101 Paisaje has 20 years of experience in different projects and different scales: residential, public, hospitality, shopping malls, live museums and rivers recovery.
The vegetation selected for the setting of the complex consists of a mixture of trees, bushes and flowers of endemic and exotic origin, typical of dry climates. Together, all of them paint a beautiful landscape full of life and color, and provide the surroundings with the natural beauty that can only come from the land. This way our guests can also keep in touch with Baja California Sur's unique wonders.
“My work shelters a big number of dreams, sustained on the scientific analysis, without losing the emotion that an artistic expression generates.” - J. Gabayet
